Did you know that the Greater Vancouver Food Bank has the least amount of food in the summer months? That’s why we are going to make a difference. Together, with three other schools, we are going to hold a food drive to collect as much as we can to help the needy people living in the Lower Mainland eat well this summer! To make it more fun, Parkcrest has challenged other schools to see which school can raise the most food! The schools competing are Capitol Hill, Lochdale, Montecito and Parkcrest. Our food drive will be from Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14.
Each day that week, students will bring in food or money to help out the food bank. The students in division one will collect the food and money, count it, and post the results on our website so everyone can see how all of the schools are doing. On Friday, the final tally will be taken and the winning school will be announced! They will win the Hunger Games Trophy to keep at their school for the year. Let’s show our spirit by finishing off our school year with the gift of food!
